Blending state-of-the-art animation with live action, Hop tells the comic tale of Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand) and must take him in as he recovers. Hop Movie in 2011

Universal and Illumination Entertainment are working on Hop, an upcoming movie revolving around a guy who has to replace a crippled Easter Bunny in order to save Easter. The movie Hop is both live action and CGI (like Alvin and the Chipmunks). Director Tim Hill is in charge of the project and Actor Russell Brand will lend his voice to the Easter Bunny. The movie Hop will be released on April 1, 2011.

Here's a first smallish official movie poster of Hop, it was spotted at the Licensing International Expo:
"Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker, runs over the Easter Bunny (Russel Brand) while driving home late. Since the bunny can't hop with a broken leg, the slacker is pressed into duty to save Easter. The film becomes a two-hander between the iconic holiday critter and the slacker, each of whom is running from adulthood."

A few words from Illumination Entertainment's Chris Meledandri:

Russell showed me that he's got a wonderful ability not only to be funny in his own body, but he can create humor vocally, which is the distinction we need for these movies. This gives us an opportunity to re-mythologize the holiday around an Easter Bunny character that is as dynamic and irreverent as Russell is.
Producer Chris Meledandri

Hollywood movies have already diluted the meaning of Christmas, now they're going after Easter with the movie Hop... Is anything sacred anymore? Anyway, with an actor as funny and talented as Russell Brand I'm confident that Hop will be a funny movie.
